Fashion Design to Collision Repair: A Unique Path. How I Found My Passion and Changed Careers 🪡🩺🛠️🚗

Hello, I'm Jannifer Stimmel-Watkins, and I'm thrilled to share some insights from my journey as both a collision repair technician and an educator. This podcast is about the voices of the collision industry. It only seemed fitting to start it with my own experiences and voice to highlight how even through obstacles, I found a rewarding career in the collision industry. My journey has veered off of the path several times but in the end those stops along the way contributed to a deeper understanding of a career that I love. I kicked off my career in fashion design-It was not all it was stitched up to be? Then I switched gears to healthcare, where I discovered that helping people is way more rewarding than sewing buttons. I switched gears to becoming a collision repair technician. Then I was honored to be asked to return as an educator to my alma mater where I fell in love with collision repair, teaching folks how to fix cars and their lives. In collision repair education, I feel I've truly combined my skills and passions. I have educated and empowered others to rebuild, not just cars, but their own paths to success. Turns out, life's a lot like a fender bender: it's all about how you rebuild! Each twist and turn just proves that learning never runs out of gas. Now I have made it my mission to get outside of the lab and be a resource for future technicians and provide consultation for shops as a tech advocate. This journey of unexpected turns has shown me that every experience enhances our ability to contribute in meaningful ways, reminding us that learning is an unending journey. With years of hands-on experience in collision repair and a passion for helping others, I am committed to creating seamless pathways for students eager to step into rewarding careers. My approach is straightforward and impactful, focusing on equipping learners with both the technical skills and the professional mindset needed for success. Let's collaborate to inspire the next generation of experts, fostering integrity and growth in every classroom and shop. Join me as I embrace this new path! I will be releasing follow up videos about all of the resources that this channel and my business will offer. I figured that the best way to start is with an introduction. In this video I talked about just a few of the resources that have helped me along this journey.
